Concert Band

The foundation of the music education experience at Volunteer High School is established in the concert band.  As a  continuation from middle school band, the high school concert band takes the essential musical skills learned in middle school and combines them with advanced techniques, musical experiences and performance opportunities.  It is in this setting that music principles and fundamentals are taught, practiced and developed.  Therefore, participation in all other aspects of the band program is centered off the principle learned in this class.

The Concert Band typically presents two concerts a year.  They present a winter and spring concert held in the Little Theater.  They also perform at graduation ceremonies of VHS.
